the time that i had a busy weekend and had a journey out to ikea

what a busy weekend.
had dinner and drinks with my friend kevin. then i headed home and spent the rest of the evening playing catch up on my tivo and doing some reading in bed.
i woke up rather early on saturday morning and headed out to the suburbs with my friend andrew. of course we set out in the wrong direction but luckily i realize this before we made it half way to wisconsin. surprisingly, the trip to ikea just wasn’t as fulfilling as expected. i left with one small bag of items and having only spent less than $20. after lunch at cheesecake factory, we headed off to check out the hdtvs at best buy and some couches at some random places. while at best buy i was sucked in by the offer of all seasons of futurama on dvd being on sale. i know have every episode of futurama made thus far. how exciting! after spending 8 hours in the suburbs i started having withdrawal symptoms from being away from the city. so we returned to the city and stopped at crate & barrel and cb2. i think i’ve finally found a couch that i like that is at both. i’m about 90% sure i’m going to get the one at cb2. i’m hoping to be 100% sure by the end of the week.
today was a bit more relaxed and less busy. i headed over to my boss and her fiancee’s place mid-day so i could help them set up their wireless network and a new computer. came home and then ended up going over to crew to have a drink with my friend tim.
and that is that. can’t even believe the weekend’s already over and it’s back to work. in completely random news, i’ve developed a severe addiction to wsj.com. i gave in and bought an online subscription and now i’m wondering why i never had one before. it’s all of my favorite parts of the news in one convenient location. i find it sad how sad a simple news website can make me. good times.
