i’m increasingly getting annoyed with the frequent calls from the UT alumni association. i have a strict policy of not giving a donation until all of my student loans have been paid for. i thought i made that clear the last time they had some poor little college girl call me and ask me for money.

yesterday was the first softball game in almost a month. i can’t decide if i want to do it next year or not. it’s a great deal of fun but i’m kinda horrible, so i’m thinking no. it’s no fun when you’re the worst one on the team. yeah, methinks i shouldn’t play next year. must try and maintain the little dignity i have left.

summer in chicago is here and i couldn’t be happier. the weather has been so wonderful lately. i just wish i had the opportunity to get out and enjoy it. i’ve had the opportunity to attend two cubs games and get to hangout at one of the rooftops and i’ve had to turn them both down! between work and everything else i just need a vacation. as soon as i get done planning this massive national print campaign i’m going to take a week off and do absolutely nothing. or maybe i’ll figure out something to do or somewhere to go visit.

i am counting down the days until the 3G iPhone comes out. i’m still not 100% sold on it but i’m warming up to it. i think i can make it work for what i need it for. that blackberry bold is looking rather tempting though.

okay enough for now. i must return to this mess of completed RFPs that i must get back to going through.

for some reason i seem to always get the cab drivers who want to talk. tonight it was about the weather and if i worked downtown. awkward. one time a few months ago (october 17th to be exact, how i remember this is a complicated story) i was going home and the cab driver started talking to be about god and how he was convinced that that there was and that there wasn’t a good. i was really confused. it was a good story nonetheless. it was also really awkward.

wow how time flies. so my birthday totally sucked. i did get to see avenue q the evening prior which was great. but yeah, the actual birthday was just terrible.

work has been crazy busy. crazy busy indeed.

i got mario kart as a birthday gift from joe. best game ever. i can’t stop playing it.

So I am on the southshore train on my way to Indiana and I swear it’s a freaking hilarious journey everytime I get on the train. There’s always someone drinking an getting the weekend started early which I fond rather odd. First of all, I have serious issues with people consuming food and/or beverages on any form of public transportation. Secondly, who really needs to drink that badly that they have to bust one open and go to town on a commuter train? Nobody, that’s who. Today’s interesting journey centers around this woman who sat next to me. She got on wreaking of vodka. She passed out shortly before the train got out of the city. It was horrible trying to not want to throw up because of the horribly strong vodka fumes. Well as the train pulls into the Gary stop she wakes up suddenly and realizes she was so past out that she missed her stop. Hilarious. Now that I have finally had a few opportunities to see Midwest life outside Chicago, I am just amazed. It’s as crazy as rural Texas out here. Good times. Okay my stop is coming up …

i am finally almost complete with my project of catching up on seasons 1-3 of battlestar galactica. i have seven episodes on dvd to go before i can start watching the 6 episodes of season 4 that i have on my TiVo. as i near the end of this project, it’s time to start considering what the next show i should take on will be …

so many choices. my new rule, however, will be to ensure one of my three movies out from netflix is an actual movie and not a tv series.

i have returned from my trip to nyc, which turned out to be three insanely productive days. this upcoming week is upfronts week which is sure to keep things busy.

we’re barely one week into the month of may and it’s already starting to look like it’s going to be a crazy month. last week was full of finishing off presentations and client meetings. i’m off to new york tomorrow morning for three days filled with meetings with mccann & client with a grand finale of a big presentation on wednesday before heading home that evening.

the week after that is the network upfronts which will make that week go by rather quickly.

that’s all i’ve got. i had more but i need to get some sleep so i’m well rested for the flight in the morning.

so i’m sitting there working on some random things and i suddenly come to this realization that i am sitting amidst a multi-taskers dream environment …

okay, now i really wasn’t pulling reports for work (it was just out for e-mail checking) but it adds to the nice effect.

so yeah, a site redesign is in the works. the hope is to make everything a bit more visual and turn this into more of a photo-oriented blog. here’s to hoping the next 3G iPhone sports a 5 megapixel camera. if not then i suppose i might have to buy a decent digital camera.

on to more exciting things … i totally kicked ass this sunday during softball. and by “kicked ass”, i really mean that i was able to hit the ball and still have it be fair. 3 hits. 2 runs. just so we’re all on the same page … these weren’t great hits, i won’t lie. one of them only went three or four feet (i kid you not). the thing that matters is that i actually hit them and the were all fair (something i couldn’t do during the two previous practices). i only struck out once and that was during the second game when i was called in to be someone’s substitute at the last minute. i’m chalking that screw up to not being in a softball-playing state of mind (yeah, i can come up with an excuse to justify pretty much everything i do). all in all, it was a rather good sunday morning of softball. we lost our first game, but only by one point which was rather great (they were a pretty good team). the only bad thing is that i’m beyond sore now. i could barely move today. my legs aren’t cooperating much. i can’t seem to lift them high enough to even set them on the coffee table. i knew i was out of shape, but i didn’t think i was this out of shape.

after much work i’ve finally figured out the best way to get the HD content off my tivo and cropped and adjusted to look normal in flash. yay for fancy macs being able to do everything so easily … the file is a bit large, i still need to work on adjusting some more settings to get it down a bit.

today was the first day of softball and whoa did i suck. i mean, wow. what an embarrassment i was. my glove is all stiff and i throw like a chimp. plus i can’t swing a bat and hit a ball to save my life. i left practice and all i had was a broken ego and a bruised hand:

besides the softball it was a rather enjoyable weekend. joe was in town and we went to see forgetting sarah marshall, which was pretty freaking awesome. yesterday we ran around town doing my errands, getting my glasses fixed, taking a trip to ikea, etc. good times overall.
