ugh i know, i’m horrible at updating this. my apologies. i swear i will soon.
for now, all i have to say is:
i heart chicago. i’m loving every minute of it here. this was the best decision i’ve ever made. i’ve got a good job, i’m living in a great city, i’m making some awesome new friends. life is pretty fantastic.

okay so here is the rest of my story …
so i came home quite late on my birthday evening.
i slept in the next day and then didn’t end up getting much done. a friend came over and had some wine with me so basically i got nothing done.
i ended up sleeping in sunday and then had lunch with my old boss, eric. by the time i was home and started packing it was already 3pm. so i basically had nothing accomplished since my parents had taken some of my stuff the week prior. luckily my friend charles came over to help.
it was an insane night. i filled up the back of my truck with trash twice. and then when it came time to pack up to leave i didn’t have enough room. i hadn’t planned on having that much stuff. luckily charles was nice enough to fedex me four boxes that i couldn’t take with me. seriously it was one hell of a night. by the time i finished cleaning and was ready to go it was already 3 in the morning.
got to dallas around 530am. didn’t sleep since i had to be up early anyway to go to my sister’s graduation at 10am. had lunch and by the time got back home it was 3pm. i tried taking a quick twenty minute nap but ended up sleeping a tad bit later than i should have. i had to rush off to the airport in order to make my flight to chicago.
of course i get to the airport and my flight is delayed an hour and a half. for the first time in about 8 years i flew an airline other than american. i have no idea why i did it. i flew air tran and had the worst experience i’ve ever had. the might be a cost efficient airline but they are also incredibly unprofessional. the experience was not worth it. when we got to new york the ground crew consisted of about two people who were doing everything. they had three flights come in at the same time and we ended up having to wait for the luggage for about forty five minutes after we had landed. by the time i got a taxi and got to the new place it was a bit after midnight.
i had to be up for work the next morning so it was straight to bed.
so now i’ve been here two weeks and i’m having a great time. everything seems to be working out quite well for me. i love my new job. everybody in the office is quite friendly. my office is quite large and has a great view. i just need to do some decorating:

those are some pics from the first day. i’m slowly adding decoration to the office but i still have a long way to go.
i’m a bit tired so i’m going to stop there. i have many more stories to tell but eventually i’ll get them up here.
until later.
